Hello German Volvotuners,

How are you all?

I will introduce myself briefly,

I'm Jan, nickname The Godfather. Currently, I live in Zemst (about 20 mins from Brussels, Belgien).

I've got also a question. What are nice Volvo-meetings in Germany and when will they take place? We would like to visit some more foreign meetings, that ofcourse also in the land of tuning; Germany.

very nice cars godfather and cruisin. You wanna look after a german volvo-meeting??? I tell you this evening after work.
I have also a question but I need my dictionary because I don´t know the right word for my question. In german we would say "Scheibenwischer", but you don´t know what I mean. Okay see you this evening, have a nice day

the next meeting is at 24./25.05.2002 in 36304 Alsfeld/Eudorf. There is a hotel were you can stay. The name is "Zur Schmiede". Do you have any questions about the hotel ask Marius.

@godfather: You have only one wind-screen at your car, how do you do? It look like very nice, fine!

Is it custom made?
Please provide some more information on it.

Hallo,

We will certainly be present @ the volvopower-meeting in Alsfeld/Neudorf! Up to this moment, 4 cars suscribed to go to Alsfeld.
Who will be there? I (V40) will, Just_Cruisin (V40), Wbarrea (S40) and Makey (460),

The hotel, Zur Schmiede seems like a good hotel to me. I had the owner on the phone and there are still rooms available ;)

So you can certainly expect us!


@Stanley, the single-wiper. I just removed the driver's wiper and placed the passengers wiper into a more upright position.
So no crucial modifications to the wiper's mechanics. The biggest DIS-advantage is ofcourse the fact that the wiper does not wipe the complete windshield.

oki, but it look like nice. And know the wipers don´t wipe the complete windshield, too. The function is the same. How do you remove the drivers wiper??

Hi Stanley,

Thank you for the compliment.

Now, the mechanics stay the same. The only thing you have to do is remove the round black cap at the foot of the wiper with a small screwdriver. Underneath you will find a bolt (I believe a n° 11 or 12, I don't remember).
Unscrew it completely and gently remove the wiper without.

Than, to put the passengers wiper a bit higher, do exactly the same as I wrote above. And screw it tightly! BUT be sure that the wiper won't hit your windowstyles!

In the worst case, we can do it on one of our meet 'n greets, or on Volvopower. I always have the tools with me :)

At the weekend I want to look for. What are the handicaps of an single wiper. Have you any expiriences with problems or so, tell me please!

Hi Stanley,

The only BIG disadvantage is by very hevy rainshowers! One wiper is not sufficient in that case. In all other cases, I do not experience any problems.

PS. don't forget to adjust the sprinklers!

I am one of the leaders of Volvo Power Team ( www.volvo-power.net )

We have most of our members in Norway, but we also have international members, as we are an international club, free of member fees.

Maybe I will cruise to Germany and meet you people within 12 months. I must first put a B230ET and tune it, into my 242 DL.

I will have 240-260hp and 1031 rear differential with brake.
The car will weigh 1100kg estimated.

Where do you get your outside mirrors? They are fantastic.
Can I buy them in germany, too? Are they allowed in germany, do you know? cool really

Stanley´s right. The new mirrors (with turnsignals) are kickass.
Please tell me the vendor or if they ´re custom made what you did to fix them to your car.

Hi,

try this site: www.hova.com.
There you can find several different outside mirrors for the V40. Perhaps this one is there too.
As you can see this dialer is in Sweden. Unfortunately I haven´t found any Germans yet. So I can´t say anything about our friends from the "TÜV" ;D

sorry, but I haven´t found any comments about included heaters. Perhaps you try to contact the dialer himself.

For the price in EUR:
1 EUR = ca. 9 SKR
